I tried to have the *perfect* self-care day

Okay... so everybody needs, everybody loves and everybody does some sort of self-care from time to time. The truth is that nothing works the same for everyone. Personally, for once I decided not to get ideas from someone else on how to spend my so precious self-care day, but to do what truly my soul desires. By that being said, I am going to tell you how I spent my day, so that I can inspire you on how to spend yours!


MORNING

I woke up by 9.00 am. Usually, I wake up after 2.00 pm but I wanted to seize the day! So...

It was the perfect morning! I opened the window to let the fresh air enter the kitchen and I made a huge cup of Americano coffee. After just one sip, I felt ready to make a healthy, nourishing breakfast! One hard-boiled egg for me and one for my boyfriend, one avocado, freshly squeezed lemon, salt, black pepper and 2 slices of whole grain bread slightly toasted and breakfast was ready. I admit that both my boyfriend and I enjoyed it way too much!

Our morning did not end there though. Afterwards, we played a classic Greek game called tavli which is quite similar to backgammon and then we started cleaning our home. I find cleaning oddly satisfying... I strongly believe that our home is a part of us, so we must take care of it as often as we take care of our body and our soul. we changed the sheets, we washed the dishes, we cleaned the mirrors and finally we made sure that every little object was in the right place.


AFTERNOON

After cleaning up our home, I decided to make my boyfriend's favorite comfort food. A healthy, nourishing lentil soup! We both love eating grain soups, especially when combined with feta cheese and coleslaw. After having lunch I went for a small walk and when I was returning home I decided to buy some flowers to decorate my living room. I love flowers so much!



We all know that this day wouldn't be a "self-care day" if some skin care weren't included. For this reason I decided to have a face peel, I used BEREZA SIBERICA PURIFYING & BALANCING FACE PEEL, which works delightfully with my complexion and then the BEREZA SIBERICA PORE MINIMISING FACE MASK that also works perfectly! Then I hopped in the shower (since I don't have a bathtub) and sat there for quite a long time.


EVENING

By the time I hopped out of the shower it was already dark outside. I wore some comfy clothes lit my favorite scented candles and sat on the couch with my boyfriend. He helped me out with some work on my blog and then we decided to watch Netflix. At the time we were watching Merlin. He made me popcorn and made two cups of delicious hot cocoa!

When the perfect self-care day starts early, it also has to end early. I went to bed by 10.00 pm checked on my social media and by 10.30 pm I was already asleep.


This might not be the most productive day of my life, but I actually enjoyed every single minute of it! So if you ask me what the perfect self-care routine is, I will describe you this exact day. I hope my day inspired you even a little bit on creating your own perfect day!
